Thanks to Sabotloader for suggesting BOILING hot water to get rid of my plastic build up. The 45 Knight Disc Elite is ready to hunt. I shot to fouling shots before leaving home and went to the range. This was my first and only three shot group at 108yds with this ML. I used 130grns of BH209, and the 200grn Lehigh Bullet. Not the normal 140grns. The group would tighten up with 140grns by volume with BH209. This is plenty good for what i'm doing. I do want to mention my back up gun will be a Knight Vision with 130grns of BH209, and a 250grn Lehigh Bullet.I will be leaving Friday morning and hunting first thing Saturday morning.

Tom, have you ever lapped or polished up your barrels with JB paste? Just curious if that would cut down on the plastic build up.

Tom, Aside from the Lehigh bullets,do you find it necessary to push every bullet as fast as possible for best accuracy using BH209?

Tom, Aside from the Lehigh bullets,do you find it necessary to push every bullet as fast as possible for best accuracy using BH209? No not at all. 200grn Shockwaves will shoot the same as above with 100grns of BH209. I'm finding the faster you push Knights the better they shoot. I had a talk with them and they seem to be finding the same. You looking for a load for your Daughter?

Tom, Aside from the Lehigh bullets,do you find it necessary to push every bullet as fast as possible for best accuracy using BH209? Tar I've shot about 5 bottles of Blackhorn through my Triumph, Ruger77 and my Savage. I've gotten the best results using 110gns in all rifles and 300gn bullets.. Some have gotten better results shooting less and some more. Just like the Savages ;D. If you're looking for a Blackhorn shooter and can live with a breakdown model get the Triumph. Best shooter and the easiest by far to clean. Zen

As stated above, you'll be hard pressed to beet a Triumph. 75grns of BH209 with a 200grn XTP, and a short black harvester sabot. She's all set go.

Tom, In another thread someone had stated that there was very substantial recoil from the BH209.If true and that is coupled with a lighter gun,and the fact that you have to use more BH209 instead of less for best accuracy, this may not be the route to go with her.I am wanting to keep the decked out weight of the rifle under 8 lbs,FPS in the 1800-1900 range, bullet weight in the 200-250 grn. range while keeping recoil mild, with the ability to reach out to 150-175 yards accuratley. My reservations stem from the fact that I have not shot the BH209 and have no first hand experience with it.

It's all a matter of opinion. I dont think the recoil is any different. Obviously the heavier gun = less recoil. Lighter gun more recoil. Everything the same i dont notice that at all. If you need something just let me know.

Not to my knowledge.
I know you can get a .45 Elite on GB. But they will have 26" bbls and fairly long LOP. If you contact Knight, they have stocks for the Disc Extreme and will alter them for the Elite.

Anyone aware of a youth model disc elite? The stock on the Triumph is short.
