Does anyone know if Boyds started putting real recoil pads on these stocks or does the picture not represent actual product? I know it says picture is for color purposes? About a year ago a tech from Boyds told me they would have recoil pads that would be releasing soon for the laminates. Maybe the time has finally come. ;D www.boydsgunstocks.com/VT-REM-700-ADL-SA-BBC-PL-F-p/660-713.htm

last one I used had a pad 3/8" thick and rock hard, IF they put a decent pad and metal pillars in these stocks nothing would touch them for the money..hopefully its a change for the better

I believe Stockeys Stocks have the nice recoil pad on them but they are a little more expensive. The two laminates I have on my Pro Hunters have nice recoil pads, my sons came from EA Brown and mine from Cabelas (Keystone). It can't be much more cost to put a decent recoil pad on them.

I bought 2 and they had thin hard pads. I did a search and found a guy that claimed the Limbsaver # 10301 for win. 1300. Fit really good with little sanding. Might be worth looking into.

For an almost perfect fit this is what Limbsaver recommended. limbsaverproducts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=10It has a raised lip on the backside which I guess can be either ground off (as I did) or you could use a router and cut it into the stock. Screw holes need relocated. As I said, not a perfect fit but very close. Not seen from a foot away. Print the template from the Limbsaver site and try it out if interested (remember to print to scale by following the instructions). Definitely beats the little sliver of a recoil pad Boyds put on them. ;D
