Is this NOT the same trigger used in the center fire rifles?
I got a JARD, Inc. upgrade kit for the Rem700 and cannot get it to work. Could have sworn that bot triggers are one and the same.

Installation was easy enough. Both sear and trigger moved without binding, just as they should, but setting the trigger so it will work seems impossible. Either the firing pin will not drop, or it will, and then the bolt will not cock. This one is set up a bit different than the Rem trigger, even though it uses the Rem trigger housing. The sear is longer going down and the trigger is shorter going up to the point that the existing trigger stop screw is not used. The screw below is utilized as as both screws. The single rear screw still has the same function as the Rem setup. JARD's instructions seem vague, to say the least. Guess I'll just have to call them next week.

I too thought they were the same between ML and CF.

I too thought they were the same between ML and CF. Jewell CF triggers work fine in my Rem 700 MLs.

Problem solved. I was attempting to get the spring you can see in the photo to line up with the trigger tension screw, but it fits below the screw instead. DUH!

I made the above statement before completing the project. The safety will not allow the sear to pivot as low as it should. Some genius adjusted the LOP for the young lady I bought it from by bending the trigger in two different directions rather than cutting the stock down. The factory "nail polish" was still on the adjustment screws, so this was done to the trigger while still in its housing. Something had been bent somewhere in the safety. It did work with the original parts, so everything apparently was screwed up the same. I've got another trigger installed on the new build adjusted to 3#. May just get a Timney for the next build. I just put one on a Mod 788 and love it. The 700 Timney trigger is on sale at Midway right now.......real tempting.
