Seven years ago I bought some heavy 14x40 stabilized "boat" binoculars for finding birds while fishing and for target shooting. I left AA batteries in them and the leaking batteries ruined some electronics. Nikon sent an email saying they needed a small credit card charge in order to fix the binoculars. I hesitated, but agreed to the charge. They sent me brand new binoculars. The warranty had expired six years ago. The lesson here is never leave AA or AAA batteries in things you care about, and if Nikon asks to charge for a fix, agree to it.

Post like these are the reason I advise shooters to go with Nikon. They are competivly price, rugged, clear and the company stands behind their product.
What's more to love?

My binoculars and rifle scoped are mostly Nikon, I also like their cameras. I have never needed any customer services with any of my Nikon stuff so I can't speak on that issue from personal experience. MyNikon,Made in Japan,Monarch, 20X56 6 Degree binoculars are clearly superior to any brand I have viewed through. Unbelivable how clear and easy to focus they are. Also, there are no eye strain using them. I can look through these binoculars for any length of time and when I return to normal vision there is no blur time. I can switch from one to the other without any change to clear vision. They are relatively heavy but that weight is a plus in decreasing my normal hand trembling. I can't praise them enough because they are a pleasure to use. Ben
