When you order a scope make sure you can look it over and return it if it is not what you ordered. I never order anything that is in china or some place fishy.

Heard of Leupolds made in China about 2 years ago. I never found out who was selling them but have been on guard ever since. mrbuck

It's been going on for longer then a few years. They used to come out of Shanghai in the late 90s and they would copy not only Leupolds but also Zeiss, Swarovski and Hensoldt (very few of those in the states to compare to). A guy will pop up selling them on Ebay and then when one of the makers start legal action the guy fades away and another takes his place a few months later. What is bad is retailers here in the states will buy 20 or 30 at a pop and will not sell them outright but put them on used rifles. The $100 scope will add $400 to the price and if the buyer catches on the dealer just says that was the scope that came on it. ACOGs are another scope copied pretty hard, a lot of the gunshow ARs are wearing them. One dealer was swearing it was a real McCoy and the almost buyer called up Trijicon and gave them a serial number and it was a copy. The dealer vanished for a year or so and now is back and has been caught peddling sub-par ARs. He will buy a RRA or other leading brand striped lower, then put the cheapest parts he can find in it and sell it as the lower makers rifle. When something breaks and you call the lower maker and you find out your SOL warranty wise.
