Anyone have any experience with the Vortex line of riflescopes? I have been looking at the Diamondback 4-12x40 V plex reticle online and there is a $90 upcharge for the Adjustable Objective. Just wondering since no dealers around here carry them in stock what kind of clarity they have and what other scopes they are comparable to.

Basicly 1" tube with lens quality around 3200 quality, maybe a bit better then a VX-I and pretty close to a VX-II. Well worth the money and plus it has the Vortex VIP warranty, if you run over it with your pick-up or drop it out a tree stand they will fix or replace. CS is so good that if your not happy they will go the extra. Guys were gripping about the old Crossfires and Vortex bumped them up to Vipers for a few bucks more. One guy told me he has less then $200 in his 6.5-20X44 Viper (it was a SHOT show demo, never mounted and still has the VIP warranty) after sending two Crossfires back. He is very happy with the Viper and has bought Vortex ever since.

Thanks for all the information. Went to cameraland and reserved a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 V plex wide for $279.99 shipped. Should be in stock towards the end of April. Will be mounted on a .300 RUM shooting 200 grain bullets so hope it stands up to a little recoil. I'll give a review when it is up and running.
