I finally went and done it. got everything ready for my 1'st run of self-loaded ammo. I've been wanting to reload for a couple years now, finally took the tax refund and bought some supplies. I reloaded about 35 rounds of .243 today. This is kind of fun!

Good move on your part.... Reloading for me is just as rewarding and relaxing as shooting. Plus it allows you to shoot a whole lot more than if you were buying factory ammo. I also cast my own bullets for my pistols.... I keep at least 2000 rounds loaded for each of my 380, 9mm, 38 special, 357 mag, and 45acp. Also 500 rounds for my 243 and 270. You never know when ammo will get hard to find as it did a few years ago. I see that happening even more so in the future.... Like you I started out on a corner table, now I've got entire room dedicated to reloading alone.... My boys call it the amory... You're in for a whole new experience.... all good ;D ;D.. Good luck and have fun. Zen

That's quite the press ya have, there. Here, and I've been reloading for 40+ years and still using single stage presses.
Are those bullets SMK's? 70gr? That's what my .243 likes the best, along side 105gr A-Max's, but with Reloader 17.

Howa I have that same press and some others, I got into reloading Because of a 325wsm and the cost of that ammo was high even when they first came out and because of a BLR in 358win that I could not fined ammo or even brass for at the time I had to resize 308s to 358. I think your going to love your new hobby. ;D

Howa... take your time and a rifle will reveal what it shoots best. Sometimes it's not what you hoped for, other times you get lucky. Better get another package of paper plates !!
