SOFT like in little recoil or Presser. We have a old vintage S by S that we love to shoot. It has steel barrels but there very early. We DON'T want to blow the ends off... Here is a load we found out of an OLD Manuel. 2 3/4 Rio hull -G-600 primer- WAA12L wad-19.5 gr Clays powder- 7/8 oz nickel plated lead #5's- over shot card- 8 point crimp and a drop of model glue to keep it sealed up. We have used it for a long time and there is NO sigh of a problem with the gun and have never had any "Bloopers" The book lists it at under 5000 PSI and right at 1200 fps. If you have a smaller person that is recoil shy try this it's easy to handle and enough to kill cleanly all bird you can shoot with lead shot.
