Heart shoot the buck, double lung the doe by default I was wondering if he was going to do the ethical thing and wait for the doe to get out of the way or try for a double shot and roll the dice. It never ceases to amaze me the pure crap people want to bolt onto a rifle. I really see no practical application for the device mentioned above. I mean if you want to record something there are much more practical items out there that mount to tree stands and such without throwing off the balance of the rifle. I saw one of the TV shows the other night showed were someone took a perfectly nice Lightweight Colt M4 with collapsible stock and short barrel and added all sorts of bolted on crap to the thing that made it heavy and unwieldy. Totally took away from the pure estetics of the carbine and made it into a boat anchor as far as I am concerned.

Few years ago I filled my doe and buck tag with one shot...They were lined up perfectly and I said why not. Both were DRT... Both my sons have smart phones... need to talk them into it ;D Zen

Just so what happened to me doesn't happens. I had a big doe she walk in from 200yds to about 40ft was all lined up for a head shot. I had my wifes phone the sound was off but my daughter texted her. It made a sound and the deer was moving on fast. But the next day I shot a 8 pointer. You just have to make sure the smart phone will not make a sound or you might miss the big one. But I like the idea of filming your hunt.

My son holds his smartphone up behind his binoculars to capture pictures. It works surprisingly well.
This fall I was stuck working a 'hot and heavy' project and couldn't make it into the woods during the archery and early muzzleloader seasons. I'd be working at my desk and get an email with attachment from my son. I'd open it to see a picture of another deer walking past his stand. It was adding insult to injury.

I like the aspect of being able to video. Checking shot placement would be great as well if there were any question. I tried to video my last hunt this year, off the ground, camera on a tri-pod. Epic disaster Got some footage but no way I could of the deer I ended up shooting.

It is real hard to film yourself take a shot with a video cam.... don't ask me how I know! Would be pretty cool to have the reticle in the video though.
