That's what I thought rossman, do you think the action can take a properly contoured 45cal barrel and do you think that action is as strong as a nula?

The action is pretty much the same as a 700 right down to the barrel threads. You will have to open up the barrel channel to take a bigger contour. You might want to look close at the current stock to see if it will take the bigger contour. The Remington barrel contours were different with the 722/721.

I'm sorry, I got the threads confused in a senior moment. With the 77/44 there may be extractor cuts in the barrel but if you bore it for a breechplug you might not have to worry about that. As I said in the other post the thing would be what the barrel threads are. As long as they are the same as the centerfires it is possible using one of Pete's centerfire plugs set up for a cut down 44 Mag case.
It may be doable but more work then a 700ML and then there is a ton more metal and a pain to bed.
