On the last morning of my Muzzleloader hunt in KY I was proud of my ML-II. After not seeing any deer, about 10:00 I catch something in the middle of the field behind some small trees. I pick up my rangefinder to use as a binoc and am surprised to see a coyote. I quickly ready my gun with a steady rest. It trots out in the open and is about to go into the woods, but makes the fatal mistake of pausing briefly. I launch a shot and it whirls and runs back the way it came from. I thought it pulled up lame, but was not sure. In about 3 or 4 minutes I hear a shot in the direction it went. My buddy text me he just shot a coyote that was flippin and floppin in the middle of the field. He knew it would die, but had not been able to shoot and I would of done the same thing. I had shot it just in front of the hams and broke it down. I quickly turned and ranged the shot @ 204 yds. I was surprised by the distance. It is my longest kill with a muzzleloader. I know that is a mere chip shot to most on here, but I was proud to kill a coyote and especially at that distance. It is my second 1 with a muzzleloader, but it was in the darker days of pyrodex and hours of cleaning....lol Attachments:

Good job!
A few more fawns and other critters will now survive. I never pass up an opportunity to remove a coyote.

Thanks guys......I am shooting a 250 SST in front of 69 gr. of H 4198 and a CCI 209 Magnum in a stock ML-II.
I love shooting the coyotes, but most are with my 243 WSSM. I am up to 27 and counting. I keep a rifle with me most of the time and never pass up a shot at a coyote crossing a field.
