Back when we really had our gun's going, my Friends 1100 loved the 3/4 oz barnes high vel, while my mossberg put them all over the place. Yet my Mossberg outshot everyone if I went to the 2 3/4" 1 oz std vel slug.
I guess you just have to try stuff....and it ain't cheap!

kb...Standard velocity slugs "seem'' to shoot better in the slower Remington twist barrels. My 1100 with a rifled barrel will shoot 2''groups at 100 yds. with Remington 2 3/ 4 ''Copper Solids . Also Lightfield's 2 3/4'' and the Hastings Lazer 2 3/4'' slugs shot well but I believe the Copper Solids would penetrate better. New Yorker Dave Henderson has a great book on slugguns and the frustrations of getting them to shoot well.

Unfortunately my friend it is all trial and error. Get your gun on paper, then back up to your comfortable shooting distance. Mine happens to be 100 yds, then buy one box of each slug and yes I know this can be expensive. Shoot one three shot group and the ones that group the best are the ones you want. Most slower twist guns shoot the slower slugs better, however there are exceptions. Have fun and be safe.
