I have a 1:9 twist , 24" barreled(sporterized Sav heavy Varmint rifle)223 which very accurately shoots 40 NBTs with 28.0 TAC and 30.3 BLC-2. Also, 26.4 Vgt shoots 60 VMax and 60 Partitions accurately. These loads were worked up on QL. Suggestions on loads for VV-133 for these bullets? Incidentally, Norma cases neck sized, shoulders bumped, primer pockets uniformed, flash holes reamed, match primers, necks turned, shooting 0.008" off jammed. All cases fired formed and trimmed to 2.58". Thanks

OK, I'll answer my own question. TAC 28.0g, and 40NBT and 40 VMax worked slightly better than 30.3 BLC-2 and same bullets. At both 100 and 200 yds points of impact were the same with both powders and bothbullets. VV-133 25.3 was a little less accurate. 26.4g Varget with 60 Partition had about the same vertical impact as the above loads at 100 yds and slightly lower at 200 yds; however, it hit 3" right at 100 yds and 5-6" right at 200 yds. The 28.0 TAC and 30.3 BLC-2 are the best 40g 223 loads for MY rifle, that I've found. The BLC-2groups are slightly tighter , esp at 200 and 275 yds.

SW,
Ive never used 133 in the .223. I use Varget for 69 Sierra's and 40 Nos. My 1-9 twist factory barrel shoots pretty good so havent made a barrel switch yet. If I could find a used after-market barrel at a decent price I might swap but I like a light carry gun and most custom barrels are heavier. My factory barrel will shoot 1" groups @ 200 yards and that is good enough for me. Mike
