Had a big Doe bust me at 75yds. full frontal shot, entered dead center chest. Went about 30 ft and crashed. As I was boneing out the rear hams I came across the bullet. Jacket and core intacked, perfect mushroom, weighed 145grs. This was out of a 45-70 converted Handi Rifle [done by slu-foot] with one of Pete's recessed plugs. 43grs 4759, fed 209A. Also shot a nice 8pt. broadside thru and thru, no exploded exit. I'm sold on these bullets. Don't get the bang flop like the 50 but they don't go very far.

I have used the 200 SST successfully also but sabotless in my .40. SW has had good luck with them also and it is good to hear they work well in your .45. Good eating.

By the way, is there anyway to get these bullets separate? The only I have been able to buy them around here is in the plastic box with supplied tan sabot. thanks

That's the only way I know you can buy them.

I have taken many deer with the 200 sst at speeds from 2700-over 3000 fps from 12-356 yds and while it might not be the perfect bullet at these speeds it certainly gets the job done, every single time so far. this weekend I hope to send a few more thru some nannys in ky on a muzzer hunt so maybe they will perform well again....

I have only found the 200 SSTs combined with sabots I do not use with them.
