I pulled off a lucky shot yesterday... The weather was really nasty - 15-20 mph winds and lots of RAIN... I was checking the weather on my phone when I heard a twig snap. I turned and there were 4 does that had come up the ridge behind me and to my right (15 yds !)...My gun was wrapped in a jacket (to keep it dry) and hanging horizontal on a hook. I had to unwrap my gun and get it on the deer - one of them busted me and they all ran down the ridge 75 yds or so and stopped. They stood for 5min or so and then started to walk off... one of the bigger ones worked into a small opening (about the size of a pie plate) I got the crosshair settled and squeezed off the shot. Weighed 133 lbs field dresses She was facing almost totally away from me - bullet entered at the last rib and just below the spine. Found the jacket while field dressing and what was left of the core in the left ft shoulder... I was pleased with the performance - given the sheer amount of bone the bullet passed through! 300gr Barnes original SSP 60gr N120 Orange MMp W209

Congratulations!

It was a bang flop; that is for sure!
We cut up this deer last night. It only ruined about 1" of backstrap.
