Bought a nice looking laminate of gunbroker for my 700 ml build. However I didn't research the stock much concerning the action it came off.
Remington made these for a shorter and lighter barrel. I'm now wondering if I can use it with a custom barrel. I had planned to go with the remington varmit contour, but that's not set in stone, but the tip of the forend barrel groove only measures .682" with the edges only .162", which would give me a max width if I shaved it down to razor thin of .906", and that's about midpoint of the barrel, guessing.
My gut is telling me it won't work. What's yours say?

Too thin in my opinion. Even if you get it to fit you'll have to remove so much material you'll be very frustrated by the end. Order something with a varmint channel. Even the lvsf stock I have on my dmb1 contour is too thin imho.

Here's a pic of the gun from Remington- Looks like half the barrel roughly sits in the stock. Calculating the half way dimension of the remington varmint contour it looks to be about .9375, more than I have available. I guess If I have to use this stock I'll have to investigate alternate contours but they will most likely be too thin.
