Tar, before you do anything to set up tarbaby with a BH 209 gun I think you should have her shoot one. If I remember from last falls posts she is a tad recoil sensitive. I had my 1st experience with the stuff today. 2 guns a knight disc with the nfpj conversion and a knight MK 85 with one of the original 209 conversions (yes there is a difference). Both guns went bang every time without a hitch, no hesitation but I feel the recoil was very stout I would even say a bunch more than my ML II's shooting 43 of 4759 pushing 300 xtps. I was shooting weighed charges 70 grain (= to 100 by volume). The MK shot 40cal 200 gr xtp's in the same hole at 50, a little more with remington 44 cal 240 jhp. The disc didn't like the 40's but did very well with 45 cal 250 xtp. The MK 85 NEVER recocked on firing, never had a primer come apart and is going to get to come out of the cabinet to play some more. I think I'll try some 65 gr charges tomorrow should be = to about 93 grains of BP.

Thanks for the report ! I agree about the recoil...I noticed BH209 definitely has more "snap" than 777. I did a lot of shooting today, so I backed down to 85grs and shot from 50 yds. My .50 Elite really liked the 300 XTP's with Harvester short black and Harvester red crush rib (smokeless) sabot. Makes it real simple... because my T/C Omega shoots great with the 300 XTP's too. ;D I tried the Rem STS primers in the NFPJ today and the bolt stayed very clean after 25 shots. No ignition issues, but was 55* today. What primers are you using in the NFPJ ? Thanks... Rob

My 333 gr. hard cast in a SBH sabot on top of 105 grV of BH209 cronos out of my 22" Knight T-bolt at 1878 FPS, this is not a lite load!!!! In a ML10II or my Roller, it only takes 32 grains of my lot of SR4759 to egual this velocity.
I find that 28.5 gr. of 4759 in a ML10II or My Roller is the same as 80GrV BH209. 1650FPS.
My dad will 79 yr. old Dad will be hunting w/ a ML10 this Fall with 32 Gr. of 4759 and one of my Boolitz. I will also be doing like wise with my Roller. :-)
