Did some shooting at 200 yards yesterday with my Savage vent liner installed Remington Rolling Block 50cal 1x24 26" stainless, and Smokeless. Also group from 10ml II, Blue Black, box stock.
Bullet: my 333 gr. .451 from LBT Mold, WW water dropped from the mold weight with SBH sabot, average 346 gr. Know as hard cast. .300 metplat, .825 in length.
Conditions: 48*F, 1400 ft. ASL, 4 to 5 minute wind from 3:00
both guns were sighted 2.5" high @ 100
Rest used, 12" Deep window sill being modified for a 24" deep window sill shooting bench. ;D ;D I bag used to support the rifle all shots.
Powder used:
In Rolling Block, 51 gr. Reloader 7 with 7.5 grain booster of 5744 2135 FPS
In ML10II , 46 gr. R7 w/ 7.5 5744 unknown FPS
My Brother Bryan,s first group with Roller basically a 5.75 group: Three Shoots Marked with a "B" measure on farthest, third shot near the 3
Isac Johnson, my 22 yr. old Nephews first ever shots from a Smokeless ML, My Roller, 4 5/8 51 R7 with 7.5 5744 boost. 3 sgots marked with the "I", measure on first shot second shot near the 11 third shot marked w/ "I" near the 5
Bryans Box Stock ML10II 180 shots since BP cleaned, and vent liner was .038 when done shooting this group. 46 of R7 and 7.5 5744, unknown FPS, dialed 4" into scope held on blue sticker, 3 shoots marked with the "B" two above 1 below the measure.
I ran out of time to shot for group, so none of these are mine. Bryan and Isac took the photos of the target. I had to go make my rounds picking up used Veg oil.
This a view if the range, the foam box is in the rd way just left of trees right at the front edge of the snow in the farm rd. the trees are 175 yards from the lawn/ fence in the photo. This photo also shows make shift rest in window sill with my Roller.
This is a view of what 1000 yards of open fields with a hill looks like, from the pole in the left side of the photo to the left top side of the field It is a Lazered 997 yards. we have steel gongs for center fire fun all along the woods line. No we don't shot from the windo to the trees, trust me there are power line wires in the way. ;D ;D ;D ;D We have a good ground mat we set just left of the pole. We also Have a bench there in the summer, we remove it because of snow bank in the winter.
Not great or fancy measuring, I forot o tell Bryan and Isac to circle the groups but hay they did do the photos.
the conditions were what they were the rest was, well it worked, but when he gets the big sill made it will be perfect for shooting! By the way it is over 7' from the window to the ground.
