a guy came to me needing his gun "accurized" as he is headed to Kansas in a week for a muzzer hunt and ask me what I suggested. I told him a third pillar and bedding should do the trick "but not in that stock"I told him. It was a new tupperware. I happened to have a boyds lam stock from a member so we decided to use it. here was the kicker, old style stock (hole spacing), new style gun (wider spacing) so having one of Rossmans super mushroom pillars( 7/8") head I went to work. as you can see it covers the hole completely, so if any of you gents run in to the same delima call Ken. I've always like the black with the wood stocks, very classic look. This is a vast improvement over that tupperware. I'm sure it looks like a totally different gun than when it arrived.

Richard, you have more tools than I do and looks like the man with the most tools wins ;D Not everyone carries their rifle upside down for the world to see. ;D ;D The real winner here is the guy who needed this work done in a week and found someone who would "get 'er done" in time for his trip! Way to go, Bill!!

Mine new 10ml wasn't a last run but does have the new bolt spacing, I used the same mushroom pillar for mine when I installed the boyds stock. Rossman makes some really nice stuff!

Jon.........I could do it on guns that come here but that type of work takes some time and you know that time is money and it does not make the gun shoot any better. The oversized pillar that Hillbill used is perfectly fine and no different than I would do unless specifically asked for? And as far as turn around time? I think every rifle that has come to me has been back with its owner in a week or less? Oh, and the stainless, copy, of my Thumb screw is nice, but I'm sure adds a little more cost to the project vs. aluminum Richard

Thats Boyds laminate with blued really does look nice. If i stick with that color stock i will likely get the action and barrel coated to simulate bluing. BlackIce or whichever one is the most durable and closest to blued. The grayish laminates or dark stocks i still prefer the stainless look.
Thanks for the heads up. Both of my Savages are different spacing and shank sizes so options are really useful in helping me decide how i want to proceed.

I've had both Richard & Bill work on my guns--both are very fair priced and work is excellent! There is A LOT of very knowledgeable members on this board that are always ready to help a guy in need. Loads,Parts,Tips etc... I work 3rd shift right now and care for my up in age mother--therefore my time is limited. Makes my job easier, Thanks Guys! Mark
