I wanted to post some progress with my .50 thanks to Zakjac221. He sold me 20 Barnes originals to try. I'm getting right around an 1.5 inch groups with n120 (58gr) and Black crush rib sabots. I've tried 57,58,59,60 grs and the 58 was the smallest groups. Chrono at 2200 fps.
I know this isn't "lights out" shooting but it is ALOT better than I've been getting with any other combination. I'm going to tweak it further as time allows but at least I know I can go hunting in a few weeks with a solid deer load.
Many of you have told me to focus on the .458 bullets and I believe your right. They just shoot a little more consistently than the .452's. After deer season I'll try some other combinations with my supply of .452 bullets but my "go to" load will probably be the BO because of the longer range capability. I'm anxious now to do some "hair testing" with them.
Question: At 2200 fps, what kind of zero do I need at 100 yards to be usable at 250 or 300?
I can get over 2300 fps with 60 grs of n120 but my groups start opening up.
Thanks again Zakjak221, and everyone else for their input.
Of course this doesn't diminish my need for a Pacnor 45, because you know how many guns a man needs? JUST ONE MORE
Nate

The BO is my favorite hunting bullet. The deer I have shot go down quick with nice blood trails. I have never recovered a bullet they always pass through. They shoot very well not only in my Savage but my other inlines as well.

Nate, Glad your gettin good accuracy--The BO's are great bullets! Many guys have Harvested deer at over 200 yds with them. Mark
