I have a few questions I hope someone can answer for me.
1. With shooting smokeless do you still use anti-seize or anything on the threads of the BP?
2. Do you use anti-seize or anything else on the ventliner threads?
3. How often does a person need to check the ventliner or replace it and do you have to purchase it from SMI?
4. What is the best primers to use for smokeless?
Thanks in advance... Kid.

1-2 To reduce risk of a stuck plug or vent I would use some type of lube or tape on the threads. Personally, oil on the plug and Nevr Seize on the vent.
3 Vent life will depend on your load, powder, bullet, vent brand, etc. IMO the vent should be checked after every range session until you get settled in on a load and find out how long the vent will last with a certain set of components.
4 Not sure there is an advantage to any but I use Federal 209A.

I guess I'm old school I use anti-seize on both the plug and the vent even the taper on the back of the head. Not too much so you don't contaminate the powder. To be on the safe side I pop a couple of caps before the first load. I'm thinking about trying Teflon tape on the plug threads as per quite a few others. It would make for less mess and easier clean up. I use CCI M 209 primers. I think RB used to sware by them and if it was good enough for him it is sure good enough for me. Plus I have a couple 1000 of them.

If you ever have a bp or vent or nipple seize you'll never forget the anti seize again, it's a PITA to fix. 1 & 2 = anti seize on bp and vent, for me anyway. 3 I shoot relatively mild loads but change vent every 100 shots anyway 4 I have several k of 209s. Use CCI M 209 mostly. Also Federal 209. So long as I have loading friction never an ignition problem.
best. 10 ga

On the breach plug i use a very light coating of a synthetic oil or gear lube/moly paste mix and Teflon tape. On the vent i use a very light amount of anti seize and pay close attention to not over tighten it.
Anti seize can me very messy and Teflon tape has worked so well on my smokers, i still use it on my Savage plugs too. I don't use it on my NULA since tolerances are a bit tight.
Moly PASTE made for Honda motorcycles seems to work good too on the BP threads but its just as messy and its black. So if you are getting some blowby into the threads, you cant tell very easily.
Vent replacement is going to vary greatly depending on amount and type of powder. I check mine with a torch pic set and mic the one that fits the vent hole. At .035, they will go to my smoker box since that size seems fine with BH209.
I inspect my breach plug and vents every session just to be safe and make sure nothing is seized or showing signs of wear/damage. Im still a bit "wet behind the ears" using smokeless so i might be overly cautious.
My favorite primer is usually a Win209 but so far ive only used the CCI209M or Fed209A with smokeless. The Win209s are probably fine with some powders like 5744 but when in doubt or hunting in the cold,,,,,,,use a mag primer.

All 3 of the main types of primers we use will work just fine. A lot of us just choose the Fed209A as it is the hottest.
