When I finally decided to break down and see if I can go sabotless in my stock Savage. I just ordered a pack of Thor bullets from Terry to see if my Savage loves them or hates them.

Got the .503's, Terry recommend 42-43gr of 4759. Good thing is that is what I shoot in mine. Will be taking it out next Saturday and will post results

Tim1jr,
You may have to knurl them from the top of the skirt to the ogive of the bullet in order to get them to hold inside of 1.5 inches.
Also do not go over 43 grains or you will experience skirt rip and accuracy will go south.
If you search this board and the old one you will find a bunch of info and range reports about the THOR.
Hope you enjoy them.

I'm surprised Terry didn't send you the sample pack first to get the best fit. Hopefully the .503s will work, but if they are a bear to get down I'd send them back for a smaller skirt size.

Range, I had already received the sample pack, they fit tight but not hammer them down the barrel tight. Tightest fitting bullet I ever loaded was barnes expanders with the supplied sabot. That was 2 hands almost everything I had to load em.

Good deal. Listen to chuck and knurl above the skirt for best accuracy potential. Chuck hammered a nice buck at almost 200 yards with them, I took a doe at 150yds, they perform great.
