yes he shot his cva optima a few times with 100 grains of pyrodex too, hes ready for me to build em his 700 RIGHT NOW!! lol
I actually shot my three shot group first and then moved the scope to the right and let my son shoot, so a little more adjustment and its time to move to 200 and 300 and should have my chrono tomorrow!
jeff the build was perfect and shoots and feels fantastic!!!

i can tell you i truthfully with i had gone smokeless along time ago!! my son loves the gun and im just blown away for being able to just shoot of a cushion pretty much fee hand and get the groups i did, as well as a 10 year old!! im a accuracy freak wheather its bow or gun so without a doubt im sold on pacnor!!!! whn i can pick up a rifle for the first time and rough rest it and shoot this group and give it to my 10 year old and it yeilds the similiar group? think its a no brainer......granted this build by jeff is a cadillac from every aspect but im impressed!!!

O AND BEAR WITH ME AS I POST TARGETS, THIS IS NEW TO ME WITH DETAILS LIKE I POST, RANGE,TEMP,POWDER,BULLET,DISTANCE, im learning from everyone here!!

Rusty, Your money order bounced I want my gun back. ;D You have a rare gun there, with a breach plug designed, cut and crowned by the late Rick Bibby. A man of incredible knowledge and talent. Also, an Okubo stock that only a hand full of people here had a chance to acquire. (I do have 1 more ) Save a deer for me ... I may have to take you up on that hunt. Jeff

Thanks guys....yes he has earplugs too....think shooting off the makeshift rest like this puts us and the gun in meeting real hunting like situation..definately think capapable of less than moa with a solid rest........now need to decide what bullet to start tinkering with for hunting season...........will still use h4198 I believe but want a deer load to carry out to 250 if need be in temps low as teens......was just wondering if the 200 grain had enough BC to Buck a slight breeze later in season and cold temps...

any bullet out of these things does not like the wind. low bc short fat projectiles get moved readily when it gets breezy but to answer your question either the 200 sst or the 195 barnes are good to well beyond 250. I think tar killed a bean eater a few days ago at 350 + with the 195......

Thanks bill.......guess ill stick with the 200 sst for now......just need to get my chrono n play with the load a bit to see what the best balance of speed n consistency is.......so far recoil is not a factor at 58gn

That was 376yd with a 195 barnes double lung passthrough.By Tar. Guess what .......theres a new "LRO"longe range only, tactical 338 lapua out ,it boast a 1in 10" twist pacnor. IT shoots 1" at 300' or moa with a 250gnblack hills loaded round. IT holds 10 +1. IT cost $4,000......... One shot is all it takes and if you or any sml enthusiast can shoot moa or better with a .40 cal bullet or bigger, which is done and shown many times here... then we're doing something right here and the best is yet to come......glad you got onboard .......you and your son help inspire us all...........

lol,,,,,yes its definately a joy to see the young kids take interest, if for no other reason than to pass on to their childhood freinds and later then own kids, the respect, knowledge, and safety around firearms!!!!!!
