I was sorting some stuff in my man cave and came up with some packs of Traditions bullets. They are 180 grain Barnes in a light blue sabot probably Harvester. I originally thought that they were 155 grain so put them in storage. My PacNor 45 shoots the Barnes 195 grain extremely well so I want to try these bullets. Now I think I can just substitute the lighter bullet(180) for the heavier (195) to start with. I am shooting 60 grains of H-4198. Advice? Comments? Pros and Cons?

I looked at richards load data and found he shot some 185 lehighs with 60gn,4198, around 2500ft/sec. IIRC he was blowing sabots with the lehighs ,anyway you might want to start at 58gns or lower just to be on the safe side and to see what speed that bullet likes for accuracy, just my 2 cents,be careful.

The only con might be its lighter weight and the effect of the wind on it out there at longer ranges. I believe it was DaveD who had shot these before. He only shoots the 195 now and I believe the switch back to the 195 resulted from less than stellar terminal performance from the 180. Chime in Dave...
