I had to get a second action bolt and shorten it to put up into the barrel because the stock bolt was too short. Can the thread protrude into the area behind the breech about a 1/8"? I don't really want to shorten it anymore and it is not interfering with anything. Can't really see it in my pic.

As long as it does not interfere with the breech plug removal or the insertion of your "bolt", it will be just fine. Richard

The stock is from Richard's and it's called a "Tac-Driver" with Traditional cheek piece in Royal Camo laminate. www.richardsmicrofitstocks.com/The fit was advertised at 99% press fit. I had to do very minor fitting in one area. I was impressed with the stock. The only complaint is they did not completely drill the hole for the bolt to barrel and there were heavy machine marks in some areas. I had to do a lot of sanding. I have at least 12 coats of 100% pure tung oil cut with citrus solvent from: www.realmilkpaint.com/oil.html. This stuff is amazing. I went up to 1200 grit paper. Thanks!

Other than the sanding and minor fitting the stock screwed to the barrel just like it was your factory stock and that was it? Ready to shoot. I was planning to you one of their stocks, but wasn't sure what else it involved. Thanks

At Richard's, you pick the style, action and then accessories. The setup fee for the Savage ML-II is an additional $25. They even do the ram rod hole! If I can do this, then anybody can.

Nice stock, glad it wasn't too hard to deal with fitting it. Good luck with it this year. Greenhorn
