Due to finding .458's and HCR's being lights out better then anything I've ever shot......and due to our county being able to use rifles this year and only needing my ML for one week(end).....I realized that I have a LARGE quantity and LARGE variety of .451 bullets and sabots that I will never use.
What is the prices on bulk copper and lead right now? I might just get the melting pot out and make some room in my shooting box. Or maybe make a cool sculpture.....or a boat anchor
If anyone else has any ideas with what I could do with all this stuff send me a PM and we can talk about it....my weekend will be busy so I may not get around to a reply until next week.

Whatcha got? A friend of mine just bought his first Savage and he's new to the smokeless scene. He doesn't think he'll be shooting deer at past 150 Yds, so he's' starting out with 250g bullets. I think he's only got one package of SST's now, I sent him some 240 and 300 grain XTP's for practice. (.452) he's in Va.

wilms,
You can actually mail a big pile of them using the small flat rate mailer from USPS. There is no weight restriction and it only cost $5 to ship it anywhere. It holds quite a lot of bullets. Sabot I usually mail in a large envelope for a few bucks.
In case you wanted to sell them or trade them or whatever.
Hope this helps,

Send all to me. I have a smelting setup, forge, crucibles, ingot molds etc... I'll process all and take to the recycler and sell it. Of course I'll have to charge a value added fee, handling fee, processing fee, CO2 discharge fee, expanded carbon footprint fee, disposal fee for any dross produced, capital gains tax, etc... Any fees can be deducted from the proceeds of sale and I'll send you all the rest. ;D You have nothing to lose and much to gain with my offer. You can't afford to turn it down. PM for more information. 10 ga

Old car batteries here, can I melt them down? I am serious! Would like to make some cast bullets? Certainly! But it's a PIA. Either cut or bust up the case and expose the lead plates/sheets (use goggles). Then take a bunch of baking soda and mix with water until dissolved. Slowly pour over the lead to neutralize the acid. Removal of the lead can be a trick, but it can then be melted down (outside is best, since the soda probably will not get all the acid out). Have fun!
