well we all know what the stock market has been like the last few days so here is an option that might "grow" on you. promised fishhawk1 that he could take a peek. I believe its a b&c m40... very nice stock that now houses a pacnored 700 ml[img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn218/billsheliatravis/DSC_0714.jpg" img] Tim shes ready to roar after I take about .003 more off the plug

Thanks for putting that pic up Bill, I've been wondering how the tan/stainless looks. Now mount one up in Olive so I can see that too, lol. Did you have to inlet it much for the barrel, and did you glass bed it also?

had to take some out of the barrel channel and bedded the whole action along with the channel to seal it good. I bedded the action solid across the mag well to make the storage compartment and floated the barrel. this stock has a full length bedding block so it is mostly skim coated. when I bed a barrel channel I apply 4 coats of 2" wide vinyl tape to the barrel so the end result is a perfect channel to barrel freefloat...

in the next few days I will post some pics of a build or two, I have a savage/ pacnor that I should finish in the next few days along with greenhorns 700. he has a really pretty piece of wood to put his pacnored barreled gun in, I am almost afraid to start grinding on it but maybe it will be ok.....lol..... I think it will be a hit when it comes together...

You've built some handsome rifles Bill. What do you bed the barrel channel with (i.e., bondo or bedding compound)?

most times I use accraglass so I can dye it to match the stock. on wood stocks I usually dont bed them unless they have been bubbaed up or if I do a ramrod tube then i overbed with glass to cover everything up. on wood I just use truoil or a urethane gunstock finish to seal the channel after it is floated. I never use bondo on any gunstock, always epoxy..
