I have been patching with 20 lb bond paper . After reading some old post Wilms said he questioned viability in hunting situation whether paper would maintain inside a gun. I'm wondering if there would not be an alternative to paper? Tyvek house wrap? Any ideas . Thought it would be great to have pre made sleeves that could slide over the bullet and then placed in the sabot. Then varying thickness of material to get desired pressure when loading. I know knurling would probley take care of it . Just an idea. gunny

I doubt if wax paper would be affected by moisture etc. But I believe I would try knurling unless BC would be affected too much.

If your 20lb bond paper works and you are worried about moisture than treat it with some waterproofing material. Bees wax, maybe silicone spray, etc.
Test it now, and if you use a wax remember that it will tend to stiffen in cold weather so any excess should be wiped off the surface while it is still soft.
