As I'm waiting on my Rem 700/.45 McGowen, I am collecting the other items I'll need. I will be shooting 200gr SST's and 195gr Barnes with harvester blues. These powders are what I have on hand: RL 10x RL 7 TAC Varget Benchmark (LOTS of it)
This will be a hunting gun and temps in the late ML season can run single digits, so reliability is my #1 priority. Of course I'm also looking for MOA accuracy and decent speed. I have found a few of the above powders mentioned, but not much. Are any of them suitable powders or should I just get the 4198?

I would get a can of h-4198 for starters and go from there, you might not want anything else. 58-62 grns behind the mentioned bullets do very well for most.....Bill

Try Rel 7. You will get good velocity and accuracy. IMHO, I think Rel 7 works as equal to H4198 in both the 45 and the 50.
