Does anyone have a drawing of the action thread and chamber threading for a 700ML barrel?
I think I'm going to talk to a couple of local machine shops and see what they'll charge me to do the threading.
Thanks, Luke

dougsmessageboards.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=build&thread=5846&post=71133Here's a link to a blueprint edge posted on the dimensions of the breechplug chamber. As far as depth of this in relationship to the shoulder for the recoil lug, I gave McGowen 1.825-1.830" from lug shoulder to tip of stock breechplug. In hindsight I recommend 1.835-1.840" to get more primer into the breechplug. The outer barrel threads are 1-1/16"x16TPI. The length of barrel to thread from the recoil lug shoulder to use with the recommended .186" lug is 1.780". There is a .010" section that is not threaded at the recoil lug area that is 1.057" in diameter to center the recoil lug. There is about a .135" section farthest from the lug that has the threads machined off to .985" to keep the barrel threads from bottoming in the end of the threads in the action. Maybe someone has a print like edge's for the external threads. I can take a picture of the external threads of a takeoff 700Ml barrel if you need it.

There is a thread cutting die for cutting threads on a barrel for remington actions on ebay for 85 bucks. 1 1/16x16 Item #170669020613, he has reamers also, this guy seems to be a retiring gunsmith selling his tools. Check him out if interested.
