Just when you thought you could sit back in the old recliner and say "we've arrived", Bob comes up with another option. Made like the 45 caliber 327 gr with the swaged in aluminum tip, and a bc of .42. This may be an option for those who don't want to shoot the heavier 327 grainers and offer the sabot shooters a thicker jacketed bullet as the jacket is .028. Wake up deadeye as there's work to be done! parkerproductionsinc.com Ray

When are you gonna try some of these saboted in the .50, Ray? I e-mailed Parker yesterday about these bullets. I'd like to get ahold of 10 or so of them just to shoot 2-3 groups and maybe one into some wet newsprint for an expansion test. Very interesting bullet as I like 300 grainers in the 10ML-II.

Iam out of shooting the 50 and sabots for a while as the 45 is my go to gun. I have a 100 coming today as I'll shoot them in the 45s, but the 327s will be my smokeless bullet this year. For Blackhorn shooting I shot to 300 yds last week with the FF sized Barnes .458 0 and the FF sized knurled up Parker 327s. Both shot well in a 7mph wind, keeping 3 shot groups under 4". Ray

rk, thx for the heads-up. this will be a very good bullet for people not wanting additional recoil that comes w/327be. i wont' get to play with this until oct or so but might do so for a friend that did not admire ;D the recoil with the 327be@ 2600fps. this(300gn) should prove a very interesting project.
any loads,fps- etc. published for the 300 gn sabotless??

Did some playing around in a ballistics calculator and found the comparison interesting, and makes me wonder if one is willing to shoot sabotless in the .45 or saboted in a .50, if there is as great a need of a higher BC .40 like we've been pursuing- Assuming a 230gr .40 bullet with a bc of .32 traveling at 2800 fps, zeroed at 200 yds- +2"/-8.7" to 300 yards. Assuming parkers new 300 gr .45 bullet with a bc of .42 traveling at 2300 fps, zeroed at 200yds- +3"/12.5" to 300 yards. Only 1" higher to 200 yards and 3.8" lower at 300 yards. Pretty darn close. Recoil? Assuming a 9# gun, one is 30.8fpe and the other 28.3fpe. Which is which? The .40 kicks more Windage? About identical to 300 yards. Huh.

Ok, possibly whole in my comparison. Just reviewed the bullet on their site and Bob specifically says bc of .42 at 2800 fps. What would we expect it to be at 2300 fps?
I have no interest in shooting it at 2800 fps.

I have no interest in shooting it at 2800 fps. rangeball- i do find a need for a .40 high bc but of course i'm sabotless in the .40 barrel, quite possible in the .45 sabotless even though most have not tried them is the 275be(approx .275bc) which will do what most expectations long, short & terminally out to 400yds in the right hands- imo. i'm just guessing the parker 300@ 2300fps will be in the bc range of .380-.410 field conditions-what has my ears perked is the real deflection bc in which i reported the .325-327 @ .6bc(deflection) from speeds of 2300fps-2600fps,what will the 300 do in real time??

I just received my order. I need 45 cal bullets as that's the minimum in Colorado for deer, and 50 for elk, no sabots and loose powder only. This bullet is .4515 compared to .450 for 327 gr. Bob shot it in a custom 50, saboted, with 180 grs Blackhorn and it shot sub moa. The dia should make it a good sabot bullet. I'll try them sometime soon, I have scope off of my 45 as my first hunt is in Colorado and its open sights only. Ray

Since our loads seem pretty compatible as far as speed with H4198 and the 275BE. 53gr should get you close to 2300, 2500 is doable at approx. 60gr if you are comfortable that the pressure is not too high.
