i'm using the same combo but with mmp hph12 sabots. my accuracy at 100 yds is averaging around 1.25 to 1.50 inches. how is it shooting in your gun?

shoots very well , if I do my part. I like this bullet better than the Barnes Original as yu get really good expansion and the exit hole is huge

I really like the design of this bullet and it has some good reviews for people who have shot deer with it. It seems in my research on the Savage ML that the tried and true 300 yard deer slayer is the Barnes Original. I havn't tried it yet but may very soon. I can't see where the B.O. would have any advantage over the 275 XPB on deer but I have no real-life data to speak from. That's where forums like this are nice. You can see what others are experiencing and compare notes.

I bought a box for my Savage and remember how cool they looked. I wanted them to shoot great sooo badly I could taste it. But they are a .451" bullet and shot O.K. but not even close to the .458"dia bullets available and I did use Re7. I wish I had back what I spent on those babies. Good Luck anyway.

I will be trying them with N110 or 4759, N120 and Re7 in whichever sabot i have that fits the tightest. I got $5 off so i figured i will give them a try.

I never shot a deer with anything other than a BO in my 50 cal so I can't compare the two. Some say the BO pencils through and doesn't expand. I never witnessed that kind of performance. The XPB likely will expand better than the BO if shot at similar speeds. My gun liked the 275 XPB at 100 yds but beyond that groups fell apart. So, I gues if you can't hit your target with the XPB then the BO will really shine. ;D ;D
