thought I would add a pic of the bolt thats not quite finished yet and another little idea that might come in handy for a member or two. I am still going to lighten it a bit and bead blast it so it will match but I will leave the flutes bright. [img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn218/billsheliatravis/DSC_0264.jpg" img] an idea if anyone plans a storage compartment for bdl metal on a 700 ML build. I added a coil spring to serve as a anti rattle/ assisted opening aid, it works very well, you can see it to the right of my powder container [img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn218/billsheliatravis/DSC_0267.jpg" img] you can also see the storage compartment with 2- 7mm stw cases and 2 bullets. might come in handy when you forget your possibles bag.. another of the spring [img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn218/billsheliatravis/DSC_0265.jpg" img]

I see what you were talking about...!!! The cases make excellent load carriers with a funneled end to boot. The spring loaded hatch is a thoughtful upgrade also. Is there bottom metal available for SA savages? the storage compartment on these 700 conversions can be very functional especially in the field, nice. Whats next Bill...???Wilber the talking pig...lol. Great post Bill, Allan

I think wilber might be wearing your stock this week, then the metal is off to get coated if it proofs out at the range. Im running out of scopes to mount on these things, a pig or two is going to have to live with someone else to free up some mad money......

Nice work. Finding a home for one of the piglets should not be a problem.

hogue overmold in gillie green. I like these stocks ok, they feel good but are a pain to float and bed because of having to deal with the rubber. It does not sand well at all but it is doable..

a member here did the fluting and made the knob, I just cut the old one down, threaded the nub and installed the new knob
