If you can get one for less then $200 and there is no rust it is a buy. A SS is worth about $50 more. You have to watch as with most smokers, if not cleaned properly, they will rust. If it is just the barrel and your going to do a smokeless upgrade it doesn't matter but I have seen some with serious pits on the bolts and actions. A bath in Evaporust, some polishing and then a trip to the plate shop for some nickle and your back in shape but adds to your cost.

around here thats about the going price. make sure it is clean and well kept. the inside of the bolt and the breech plug area on these guns can have some serious issues if uncleaned.
sometimes you can find a real deal on one thats not in good shape and is no longer useable for bp.....

Rossman,
I checked on the cost of Nickle from my Duracoater for a friends 700ML action. He advised Nickle skyrocketed and it would be around $160 to do the action, bolt, trigger guard and recoil lug. We ended up zinc Parkerizing for $50.
That is a good deal on the 700ML. I have seen some pitted blued actions though as mentioned.

From what can be seen, it appears pretty well kept.
I'll know more when it gets here! ;D ;D
Thanks for the heads up, wk4036.
