So with Mcgowen no longer selling the prefits, what's the least expensive route going? Also, is there someone out there that will do the threading & chambering if I supply the barrel?

Member "synarms" said if there was enough interest he might get a reamer made and do them from Brux or McGowen.

Devin @ sinarms is going to do a brux barrel for me and said he might offer members mcgowen and brux barrels with him doing the fitting. he will have to post his decisions on this matter, I am just telling you what he told me. I will tell you that for the price he quoted me you can get him to do the work for about the same money as buying a pacnor.
the only down side to the brux I can see is they only offer a 6 groove barrel, we will see how the six groove works as jims has one in the works now and mine shouldnt be very far behind.

I think McGowen makes 700 barrels set up to use a barrel nut like a Savage, so a prefit from them might still be possible.

I think you can still get McGowen, you just have to send your action to them. That doesn't seem like a big deal and still very resononable price wise. So far, the McGowens have been shooters.
