I currently use an old Truball dual caliper wrist release. I am considering getting a new wrist release that has the single hook instead of calipers. I am trying to get the trigger more forward as the one I am using now feels like the trigger is too far back and seems awkward. When I draw, my index finger is straight forward resting ontop of the calipers and touching the string loop. I then have to move my finger back to the trigger. Some of the hook style releases have the trigger farther forward, which would seem to be exactly what I am looking for. Any insights on hook versus dual or single caliper releases? Joe

The following is some copy from a retailer explaining the advantages of the trigger being placed more forward on this release. The problem is that if your draw length is perfect now shooting with your present release it will feel very short with a trigger that is placed more forward. You may try to lengthen your D-loop to compensate.
T.R.U. Ball Short N Sweet S2 Release
We moved the trigger forward on the new Short-N-Sweet so you can have up to one full inch more draw length which gives you speed (fps)!!! The trigger is also incredibly light for an incredibly crisp and incredibly accurate trigger pull.
Short to give you more draw length and power stroke on a D-Loop Feather-light trigger Non-collapsing trigger that is swept back for a comfortable feel Open head loads quickly and silently for all hunting situations

Thanks Doug, for the info. I think it may work for me because my trigger seems too far back. I am actually having to change my grip a little to move my index finger to the trigger. If I could just slip my finger to the right engaging the trigger without having to alter my hold that would be great. I looked at the truball beast and beast2, but I wasn't able to try them.

Wish I had known that you were looking for one Joe. I just sold my two ShortnSweet releases on Archery Talk for very cheap. You could have tried one out to see if you liked it. I have gone strickly to a thumb release now. The guys up at Pats Sporting Goods may let you try one on for size. Doug
