I started shooting muzzle loaders IIRC with a 1 in 66 twist 58 cal zwave , went to a 1 in 48 so I could shoot conicles, then went to a 1 in 22 carbine and these three were Side hammers. The one in 22 was waaaaaay to tight a twist IMHO , never found the load that I could shoot with open sights under 4 inches at 100 yrds. The 1 in 48 shot the best with PRBs Keith nose Bullet. I then went through six in line BP Rifles, most in 1 in 28 twist. There was something Magic about a 1 in 28 twist and a 260 gr bullet BUT never got the groups at 200 yrds that I was happy with. Now guess what, I am ALLLLLLLLL the way back to a 1 in 22 twist thanks to Dave D and many others on this board And life is good Rusty------ PS : How has your road to smokeless bliss gone?
