guys I know there have been some dissapointment about barrel drops so I contacted Casey and it will be addressed from here forward. Here's a email Casey sent me to post for everyone: Dave, After talking with you on 4-19-11 I thought it would be a good idea to have you post a letter for me about the barrel drops for the muzzle loaders. We have had several people upset with us recently for either not getting their drop, the drop being to short, the drop being from a different barrel, or not identifying which drop goes with which barrel on multiple barrel orders. I would like to apologize for the misunderstanding, up until I talked with you on Tuesday nobody had ever told me what these were being used for. I still am not sure how long of a piece they need to make the dies. Up until now we have built these barrels at varying lengths, for example- a 26” barrel we would generally build and contoured out of a 28+” piece- a 25” or 24” barrel we would build out of a 26.5” piece and cut it to 1” over the finish length to match up with our programs on the lathe. So in the future we are going to start building all of the muzzle loading barrels that are 25” and longer at 28”, but just so that everyone understands if they order a 25” barrel they will get a 2” and a 1” drop out of that. Thanks Casey Dichter

Dave, Thanks for your time in handling this. I sure PacNor would like to work with the people on this board as it is a win-win for both sides. Pac get sales and we get great barrels that shot small groups. I have my second Pac on order and expect to get in the next month.

I ordered my barrel in January and asked for the drop. My barrel is soon to shipped, I'm told, so I'm sure it was cut from the 26 1/2" blank. For everyone in the order process, good luck on what you will get.

:)thanks guys i just want everyone to be happy.i know thats hard sometimes but i think pn has done a very good job and took on the task of building these barrels when no one else wanted to. since this fullform die from swinglock came out the barrel drop has become more important to guys and hence i should have notified casey sooner with its significants. sorry some of you didnt get a big enough drop.

I have to say when I ordered my last barrel from them I asked for a 2in. drop since the barrel is an experiment I didn't have any taper so when I got the barrel and drop I'm pretty sure it is mine since the barrwl is 1.31 straight to the muzzle I did explain to them why I wanted the drop. I've only got 2 of their barrels but so far I'm very happy. They have been very informative and helpful with any questions. I feel Penny is great if she has an answer she will tell you. More importantly if she does not have an answer she will get you the right one. Jon

Jon: That is a pretty stout barrel. What does your entire rifle weigh?
