nice reply Rossman. where you have the red lines is where it looks like the rear action screw was rubbing the bolt as you can see from the scratches and the wear marks. bet it just needed to be shortened a bit and it would have been so much easier to close.

Thanks Rossman. that was what I was saying as the reason for having to fill out the paperwork, that it could be modified to centerfire and that a centerfire required the lugs. I just believe it made it a safer system than it is now, all be it marginally.

this is what Ken (Rossman)... just told me in a PM....
Dan, The UPS man just dropped it off and I gave it a quick look-over. Barrel is good, stock is good, just the reciever is the bad part. From the looks of the breechplug I doubt if it has been fired more the 10 times so maybe that is a plus. I'll get it stripped down tonight and maybe off to the welder, if I get it to him tommorrow he probly won't get to it till Monday anyway. I'll keep you posted...
