Ive got the sample and the .500 works

In my .50 SMI I use the 250gr. It's a 28" douglas barrel, I assume normal 1:22 rifling and the .500" is the size it likes as well. With a .032" carbide plug, I use a fed 209A and 42gr of N110, firmly seated thor shoots 2300 fps. Very accurate.

It might be the normal 1-22 then I assumed it was a 1-28"

It might be the normal 1-22 then I assumed it was a 1-28" If it's an SMI their standard twist is 1:36. I special ordered my twist rate. I think the 1:36 will stabilize the 250gr, 300 may be on the edge but they have loads for 300gr that they say work well. If it's their stock 1:36, you can try the N110 42gr with both the 250 and 300, you should get around 2100fps with the 300gr. If you don't get the accuracy you are looking for go up or down a grain or two, if you still don't find it I'd try one of the slower powders they recommend in the amounts listed for same bullet weight. If it is an SMI and your BP is only drilled, not tapped for a replaceable vent liner or using a carbide plug, N110 may give you faster vent wear that will eventually require a new plug, or you could have the old one drilled and tapped for a vent liner possibly.
