Ok so i got my breach plug from pete yesterday and my barrel is due in next week. I bought some of the screwes to use for vent liners but do not know what size hole i need to drill in them. Also i was just wondering if anybody knows what size OAL does my cut down 308 brass need to be to be correct. So many questions so little time. Thanks for anyone that can help. FYI im building a 45cal on a savage bolt action with a pac nor barrel.

I can tell you the vent hole needs to be .030 to .031" Cobalt drill bits with lots of cutting fluid and steady but light pressure. As far as the length of the .308 cases? Since many have used the .45 ACP case (un altered) I would think that is the length you want. Richard

:)sniperjwt cut them to .890 and put your cases on your plug and measure them. make piles of the ones that are the same dimension and use your biggest pile for headspacing and use.remember you want the bolt to close with resistence so you get a nice seal.goodluck
