I haven't seen much more on breach plugs I still want to build a 40cal. with a RB style b/p. I will try to talk to one of the members that have one and see if I can rent borrow theirs long enough to make a copy. After looking for a year for a ml1 to build on. I now have three that I'm looking at or bidding on. I guess it is always feast or famine. I've got to hurry up on the build I'm on now. By going with a large shank barrel and a 5/8th b/p I think That would make a strong and easy to head space project. RB's b/p was a simple and well thought out b/p. Being able to find a new source would be great. RB you are missed and not at all forgotten may you rest in peace. Jon Jon

Jon: I have an RB 40 PacNor. I am not shooting the .40 right now. When you need the BP let me know. I thought I had two or a spare but I am not sure of that, if not I will give you the one out of the gun to copy. I thought I had two, one that let the ventliners sit flush and one that protruded a bit, I think he thought the vent liner was a bit prone to seizing. I was hoping you could buy the MLI with the bulged barrel since you would be taking it off anyways. Maybe you would both be money ahead that way.

Jims thank you. If I remember correctly he started to leave the vent a little proud to try to do away with sticking. I will try to get evertything ready so I would not have to tie up your plug for long. If enough people are interested I'll try to find some one to produce them in a small quanty.I've seen this before let me know if any one is interested In slightly better plug. As I remember RB always supplied two plugs with a asembly. jon Jon

lc: You are correct. I guess we got the last two barrels. I think I got the one he had on an action, the other was a spare. He said they were both the same. Jon: I located the other breechplug. It has a round headed vent liner in it. The other had a standard Savage vent liner. Both are a bit proud but the only one I used was the standard vent liner. I asked RB about it then and as I recall he said shoot both and see which one I liked the best. The stock ventliner shot well so I have not even tested the one with the pan head so I cannot say what is the best or if there is any difference. Just give me your address etc. or PM me when you need it, lc may be able to add more to this.

Jims Thank you I will be back to you as soon as possible. I think it is a well thought out design and would be an asset in the trend towards custom m/ling. Jon
