I know this has been covered before, but can,t find the post. By wrapping paper around a .452/451 bullet for a tighter fitting sabot. I shot the 250 gr FTX and they went down way to easy .On several causing no fire situation. I work at a paper mill so i should be able to get some varying thickness of paper for shims. I would appreciate it ,if you kind gentleman would relate your experience with this. Thanks gunny

I would try knurling the bullet first, but a sabot change is probably needed. Can't recommend one until I know what you were using.

Initially i used the Harvester black smooth ,it went in way to easy. Then OL Smokey mentioned MMP,s. I tried running some through without breech plug and considerably more pressure.Maybe that will be the ticket. I tried Red crush rib and it went in with more pressure ,but did not shoot well with 250 FTX . Just thought i read a post on paper patching bullets, rather not do it if i don,t have to. If i can find a needle type bathroom scale it would be nice to know how much pressure there actually is.Thanks Gunny

I used scotch tape with good results. It's easy to apply, cheap, and if one wrap isn't enough, go again.

I know it might not be "a lot", but if you overlap the tape? You could cause a slight imbalance in the bullet. I would prefer either knurling or the paper patch, which leaves the bullet upon exiting the muzzle Richard
