I've been wanting to try the Bulls Bag rests for some time. It seems that I have to choose between a 15" and a 10" bag. For those that use them with the Savage 10MLII, which do you prefer and why, if you don't mind sharing? I know that some find the Savage shoots better when supported near the recoil lug. The Bulls bag, even the 10" would provide support over a much larger area, and I wonder about the effect of that. They are advertised for use without a rear bag. Do you use a rear (toe/heel) bag or not? Thanks, Billy

FWIW,
I have a Caldwell tack driver bag which i dont care for. For a bag type rest like this i would use a rear bag also. For the money they charge they are not worth it IMO. You would be better off filling up an old back pack up or getting a cheap sleeping bag at wally world or putting your money towards a lead sled TYPE shooting platform. JMHO Dennis

I have one and use it sometimes.
The critical thing is to get the "ears" filled properly. If they don't grip the stock then it isn't very good, when filled properly it is nice if you don't have something better.
Since you don't need a rear bag it is fast to set up....but it isn't for super precision work.

Thanks. I ordered the 15" bag to give it a try. It won't be the first money I ever wasted.

Billy..........You will not be disappointed! I have gotten a lot of use out of mine over the years. The ground hogs though, don't like it ;D I agree with Edge, you would not necessarily want to use it for a formal benchrest match but for more casual shooting they are great. NO rear bag necessary.
