I am shooting h4198 and occasionaly I notice where I get a few grains trickled back into the breech are of my encore with a .45/70 barrel on it. Not really looking to duplex as much as block the hole to prevent loss of powder. I am sure its not much but I need a powder that larger in dia. than the h4198 but ignites well. My vent liner is not wore out. The H4198 measures approx. .028 or .029. The vent liners run approx .030 to .033 or .004 before I change them out. Any body got a recommendation? Thanks Wayles

:)Wayles if h4198 shoots good why not leave the spent primer in there after firing when loading the next shot? I've had this happen to me before but it has never caused any problems.

When you load it keep the bolt open and resting slightly backward so any powder granules that slip through fall to the ground unseen.
If you don't see them they won't bother you ;D
