baddan,Welcome to the board you could give some H-4198a try.I had a friend shoot 67 gr and get 2320 fps I would start about 65 and work my way up i would not go past 69gr.Here a link check this out. How far is the chrono from the muzzle? You also could have something going on with the chrono. h1.ripway.com/dougsboard/pdfs/50.pdf

Thanks for the reply Shooter. the chrony is about 12ft from muzzle. I did get 2200 fps with 45 grains VV n110 but not the best groups. Thanks

Don't forget in these smokeless MZ tight is right. You can change the fps from a lose fitting bullet/sabot to a tight one easily up to a few hundred fps.

Baddan, Chuck brought up a great point. Sometime when you get a chance, remove your bolt and breechplug and send a saboted bullet down the bore while you have the buttstock resting on your bathroom scale. You need to register a minimum of 30-35lbs to be in the ballpark, but 40 and more is better. If you're reading under 30# that could explain the lower than posted velocities. Good Luck!

Have you tried the Harvester Black Crush Rib sabots with .458 bullets? Many have had excellent results with that combo. Your N110 and SR 4759 velocities are in line with what I get with those powders with 300gr bullets. I get 2225fps with 65gr Rel 7 but others have posted near 2400fps with the same load. H4198 will push a 300gr bullet in excess of 2300fps with 65-67gr for most people.
