Deadeye sent me some of his 325 BE to test, the problem was they are .449 and I couldn't knurl them enough to fit the .50, so I used a paper patch, I remember Edge writting about it. The load is a beast, 286.5 after shooting went thru a 2X4 and 7 1/4 inches of the block, made a gaping hole in the block, this bullet will kill more than Deer Sabot is in good shape, I used a wonder wad over the powder charge

deadeye, As for the center hit, I was 10 feet away from target. either I can hit at 10', never having used a paper patch, I was worried it might keyhole and midd the block, but it seems to have flown true at least at 10' As for killing power, the test speaks well for that, I think [although I have not basis for this statement, maybe Edge will say] the velocity maybe 2200+. I remain in the corner of all cooper bullets for big game, not with standing this bullet and powder charge will take any thin skined animal any where IMHO.

bigmoose...Impressive performance. Is that a Harvester black CR sabot? If so I can see why the fit was loose. Anyone wanting to try this bullet in the 50 would be better served with the Harvester Red CR.

In days gone by PAPER PATCH is how many shooters got their best shooting and if you do a search I bet you will find how to do it ( as in 1800s) www.rbsiii.com/PaperPatchedBullets/

Chis, yes it was a Harverster CR, however I tried every sabot I have [lots] All were loose. I was surprised at how well the sabot held up. good stuff

Bloodtrailer, Thanks for the info. but in truth this is a one shot trial, there are too many out of box bullets and loads to use. My go to loads for big game are 300 & 350 Barnes X bullets [ no longer available but I stocked up on them, thanks to info by board members] Also the 400gr Barnes Buster Bullet
