Has anyone tried the plated bullets from Rainier, Berry's, etc. in their ML, saboted or sabotless?

saboted fine, sabotless forget it.
Plating on the Rainers I have is only .004 thick, the Powerbonds are closer to .010, but I haven't tried them sabotless and probably won't.

Has anyone tried the new Harvester .45 Scorpions? They appear to be plated also.

Has anyone tried the new Harvester .45 Scorpions? They appear to be plated also. They are plated and made for Harvester by Rainier. Ive never shot them sabotless but in a sabot at sub speeds they have been extremely accurate. Rainier makes bullets for a few companies including Alexander Arms, sometimes to their specs. So they might be better than the more common Rainiers. Ive got some of the 50-335gr from an over run for only $28/100 from MidwayUSA. Its actually a very good bullet for a Rainer. I wouldn't suggest exceeding about 1800fps though. If you want to go faster with a plated bullet, try the Speer HotCor. Many of their plated bullets can handle at least 2300fps.

For reduced loads and lot's of shooting, these bullets are super cheap. According to the selection in Cabela's, they don't offer any "heavy" bullets. It would be nice to have a .458 300+ bullet available....but they appear to be geared toward the handgun community....am I wrong?

Rainier does have a 458 350gr and 400gr FP and several .475 and .500 HPs. They don't offer many .452 HP bullets except through Harvester. They also only make the 40cal 200gr HP for Harvester even though its on their site. Cabelas used to sell the 40-200gr but stopped about 2 years ago.
Berrys offers a bit less but they do have a 458 in FP or RNFP.
Xtreme Plated offers some nice 40cals in 200 and 220gr RNFP for about $70/500. They are very consistent in weight and dimensions with thick plating. They dont offer any heavier 45s or HPs though.

While I have not seen them anymore, I had bought some 200 gr. .40 cal. (XTP look a likes) Reniers from Midway. (for saboted .45 use) I have shot them at 2800 fps or thereabouts, with fair to good results. They did not group as well as Hornady XTP's but could generally keep five shots under 2" at 100 yards. Its been well over a year and a half since I saw them for sale Richard

I think i got 50 of each. They shot as well as the 200gr XTPs for me but my 45s are using BH209. It would be interesting to see how well a 40-220gr does at 2600fps+.
