Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the instruction manual for a 10ML-1? Savage only has the manuals for the 10ML-2.

Nothing different except the factory loads. I have one but don't want to part with it. Mike

Thanks Mike, I figured that the instructions were pretty similar, but with the ignition module and different style vent liner, I thought it would pay to have a copy of the original instructions. I think I will continue to look for somewhere where I can get a photocopy or download the original. Maybe you know, I have heard from a couple sources that you can use the 10ML-2 style vent liners in the 10ML-1. They are so different, that I find it hard to believe. Bruce

moodusman, You can machine a recess in the face of your breechplug to accept the ml2 ventliner . The threads are the same . I'm sure somebody on the board can do the work for you if you are unable to. Greenhorn

Bruce The breech plugs are the same length if you put a module in the MLI plug. You could swap plugs and have a cup to hold a primer put on the bolt face, then reset the head space. It would be a lot of work. Several years ago I started shimming the modules and my gun shoots much more constant with no misfires. Mike

Hey Mike, I have yet to fire my ML-1. How much trouble did you have with misfires and what is involved in shimming the modules. Bruce

Hey Mike, I have yet to fire my ML-1. How much trouble did you have with misfires and what is involved in shimming the modules. Bruce Shooting the old recommended powders cause misfires and trying to shoot .429 bullets. Shimming the bolt face tightens up the modules. Measure and sort the modules to length. Cut shim stock to fit the bolt face. I used .001 - .005. Shim until the bolt closes hard. Drill a hole in the shims for the firing pin, then glue in the bolt face using rubber contact cement. This tightens the modules up and there is very little blow-by. Mike
