I was wonder what everyones opinion is on best vent lines to use. I care about accuracy not durability. Usally shoot 4198 powder.

As long as you keep the little hole in between .031" to around .036" it does not make a difference what you use. I personally drill my own from 3/8" 10/32 Holokrome screws with a .031" cobalt drill. 40 of my Triplex loads today opened it up from .031" to slightly under .034". At around $0.25 each including the drill bits, I toss them at this opening. Richard

On the subject of ventliners and wear, have any of you guys ever heat treated a ventliner to see if it reduces the wear. I understand you get them red hot and then drop them in oil and this can be done several times. Ray

Heat treating can get tricky...........I did some that I quenched in water............... They also got "brittle" too! I snapped the head off one that was a little tight in the BP. For me its just easier to toss them after each session. If you are only shooting a couple of hundred shots or less a year, the cost is minimal to just buy four or five a year Richard
